EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Marie Soghomonian has 20 years professional experience as a General Manager, Director and Consultant, and has extensive senior leadership experience in business transformation and the Not-for-Profit sector. In joining Ausdance NSW, she is pursuing her passion for social impact, community building and dance.

Marie brings significant experience in philanthropic programmes and board governance, being actively involved in several charities as Non-Executive Director and Chair, including Wenona Foundation Ltd and Sister 2 Sister Foundation.

She is looking forward to the opportunity to contribute to the strategic growth of Ausdance NSW at a pivotal moment in the organisation’s history and through what is currently a challenging environment for the sector. She believes that Ausdance NSW will continue to support and contribute positively to the Dance industry, which is crucial to a thriving arts landscape, not to mention the mental, physical, and social wellbeing of the community.

Marie holds a double Masters’ Degree in Not for Profit and Social Enterprise Management, Master of Management, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Brigitta Oldereid

PROGRAMS MANAGER

Brigitta is the artistic director and choreographer of ‘Brigitta Dance Projects.’ Winner of Central Coast Council, Creative Art Central Commission as ‘Emerging Artist’ to produce and choreograph the full-length production ‘AGAINST ALL LOGIC’ premiered at The Art House Wyong and invited to perform internationally. Brigittta is a teacher for contemporary courses at The McDonald College, Alegria Dance Studios, Brent Street, has taught at NAISDA Dance College and works as a ballet and artistry coach for the Elite squad of rhythmic gymnasts at the Rhythmic Academy of Sydney, Sydney Olympic Park. She also teaches specialised workshops in regional areas, performing in Award Winning Shows at Dubbo Fringe Festival and selected to perform for NYC choreographer Jennifer Archibald in Global Dance Project ‘Essential Artist Global Connection.’  

Brigitta has performed Internationally in Japan (cultural exchange) with Central Dance Company, the UK and Israel, where she danced with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company, working alongside leading artists and studying Israeli style of contemporary dance. 

 Brigitta is a graduate of the National College of Dance, Diploma ‘Elite Performance’, has Certificate IV in dance, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE), Certificate IV in Business, is a member of International Association of dance and medicine science, progressive ballet technique and gymnastics coaching qualification (Gymnastics NSW.) 

Upon returning to Australia, she founded her company with a mission to inspire the next generation of dance artists and has been managing projects and was invited to share her work at various events and festivals, collaborating with musicians and being proactive in developing a stronger arts sector for dance.

Sarah Goroch 

MARKETING AND PARTNERSHIPS COORDINATOR

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Dance Performance from the Academy of Music and Performing Arts. She was appointed Membership Engagement and Marketing Coordinator for Ausdance NSW in 2021. Outside of her role at Ausdance NSW, Sarah is working across performance, choreography and improvisation as an independent contemporary dance artist. Sarah is a founding company member of DMC Youth Company ‘Future Makers’ since 2019 performing in Sydney Festival 2020 ‘The Rivoli and 2021 ‘In Situ’ choreographed by Zachary Lopez. She performed ‘Correspondence’ 2020 Kaldor Public Arts project- Art Gallery of NSW in collaboration with Nadia Odlum. She has been company member of ‘We Are Here’ under the direction of Emma Saunders since 2021. Sarah debuted her first independent work ‘Artistic Connection’ in 2018 following her second ‘What are you saying?’ in 2019.

Sarah is a passionate advocate of the arts and working alongside the sector on behalf of individuals and organisations she hopes to contribute to the growth and expansion of the arts future, specifically in dance.

Emalyn knight

MEMBERSHIP AND ADMINISTRATION COORDINATOR

Emalyn is a freelance performance artist and dancer based in Sydney originally from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. She has created and performed in works with established artists and companies. She is a founding member of the independent collective Sydney Experimental Arts Ensemble (SXAE) and often works with Opera Australia where she has performed soloist roles in Sydney and Melbourne seasons, her credits with the company include AIDA, ATTILA, TURANDOT, and FIGARO. She has contributed to many creative processes and residencies with Sydney independent artists and is passionate about the arts sector and the opportunities and support it can provide. Emalyn holds a Certificate IV in Dance Performance from Sydney Dance Company Pre Professional Year and a Certificate IV in Marketing and Communications.
